“RtN - The Story of the Hidden Light”
The walls of his studio are covered with sketches, fabric scraps, and unfinished garments. In this space, which resembles a labyrinth of colors, patterns, and ideas, he works tirelessly on his creations—clothing that feels like paintings and paintings that tell stories.
His art is unconventional, much like himself. Instead of painting on canvas, Rudolf uses bleach, ink, and pigments on fabric. With a precision that borders on magic, he removes color from the material, revealing patterns and shapes that were previously hidden. Sometimes he works ink and pigments deep into the fabric. For Rudolf, this process is more than just a technique; it is an act of revelation. “It’s not about creating something,” he often says. “It’s about finding the light that was always there, just hidden.”
Sometimes, in the late hours of the night, when the world falls silent, Rudolf finds the peace he so often seeks. In these quiet moments, when his hands rest on the fabric and the world outside pauses for a brief instant, he looks up. The sky, often not entirely clear, yet when the stars shimmer through the smog, he feels connected to the universe. The vastness of the sky, the infinity of space—it all inspires him in a way that is hard to put into words. “The stars are like little lights in endless darkness,” he says. “And in my art, I am searching for those lights.”
In these moments, time seems to stand still. He forgets the expectations of the world, the hustle of everyday life, and lets himself drift through infinity. Every brushstroke, every cut in the fabric becomes part of something greater—a search for freedom, for a feeling that lies beyond the material. These moments are rare, but when they come, Rudolf feels at one with the universe, as if he has found a direct connection to the stars through his art.
His garments are as unique as his paintings. Each is a one-of-a-kind piece, a lived work of art that wraps around its wearer. For Rudolf, garments are a form of expression, just like painting. Every piece tells a story—of freedom, rebellion, and the desire to be different. “Clothing is like a second skin,” he explains. “It should reflect who we are, not what society expects of us.”
Rudolf finds inspiration for his art not only in the starry sky but also in the streets of cities. He is fascinated by those who live on the margins of society—the homeless, the outsiders, those who escape the system. Their stories, their strength despite all odds, deeply move him. In their eyes, he often sees the same thing he seeks in the stars: a kind of quiet, inner freedom that has nothing to do with outward possessions or success.
His works are an act of seeing, discovering, and revealing. It’s not about creating something new, but about bringing the hidden to light.
For him, the creative process itself is what matters. “Art is freedom,” he often says. “And freedom is finding yourself, no matter what others think.”
Rudolf’s life and work are marked by a deep quest for inner peace, for a connection with something greater. In the silence of his workshop, in the moments when the stars shine in the sky and the universe seems tangible for a fleeting moment, he finds that peace. And in those moments, the hidden light becomes visible—in his art, in his clothing, in himself.
